Calculation of Inventory Turns

Postby seanct » Wed Apr 08, 2015 1:25 pm

How is inventory turns calculated in the inventory cube? Some items show inventory turns in the trillions. Just looking to get an idea of how accurate this information might be.

Thanks!

Hi Sean.

Inventory turnovers are normally calculated by either Sales/Inventory or COGS/Average Inventory. You mention the term Inventory Cube which makes me think you are referring to the Jet Data Manager which uses the latter formula "COGS 365 Days"/"Average Value" in the standard cube. If your returned value looks incorrect then I would start by checking those two measures to see if they are correct. You may also have a customized data cube so you may want to check the formulas in your measures of that cube.

If you are still stuck, try posting this to the Enterprise section of the community site to see if you can get more Enterprise users feedback.
