Re: Countunique Vendor Ledger based on G/L Entry filter

Hello - Could you clarify what you mean by "the results are not consistent" ? I've attached a simple example of your queries. I have left out the Gen. Posting Type of "Purchase" (it's set to "*" in the example) because my sample Vendor Ledger Entry table does not have any matches to your entire crit...

Re: Jet Scheduler has stopped working

I spoke with a support technician about this. According to the information that Windows 7 is reporting, something is interfering with MS Office's ability to communicate with the Windows Task Scheduler. The nature of the error indicates that you may want to perform a Repair on both the installation o...

Re: Fail To Activate through Internet

Hello, As noted earlier, proxy servers are not supported by Jet Data Manager. You will need internet access only in the beginning to authenticate the client and to download the initial Jet Enterprise project. If it is an option, you can disable proxy for the server for a little bit to get these two ...

Re: NAV070 - Add Customer Name to to the report [SOLVED]

The NAV070 report is an NL("Table") report {created using the Table Builder}. You are correct... you need to add a linked table (the Customer table) in order to get the Customer name. While this can be done by modifying the report structure by hand or by using the Jet Function Wizard (Jfx), the easi...

As a simple test, remove the "Hide+?" from cell B1 and take a look at the results of your simple excel formula in column B.

Is that formula returning what you think it's returning?

Re: -1 fonction

Hello - The NL("Last") function ("-1" is something of a "shortcut") is very simple to use. The one thing to remember is that you need to define what you mean by "last" by defining a sort. Let's assume that I want the last record - as defined by the date on that record. I have this table: 1 - table.p...

Re: Group in a table

Hi Amy -

The NL(Table) function is design to do just that... create an Excel table that can then be manipulated using Excel's pivot capabilities.

For grouping, you would want to build a grouping report such as described in the Grouping Reports videos

Thanks for the additional information (about working with 2009R2).

I elected to use string manipulation to get the values I wanted.

Attached is an example working the the duration field "Idle Time" (in the Session table)

I hope it helps.

Hi Nigel -

1 - Active Directory is current required by the Jet Web Portal.

2 - It is possible to use the Jet Service Tier in a non-local server environment where Active Directory is present. For additional details, you would want to contact Jet's technical support team.

Hello Dave -

This can be accomplished using the the advanced technique known as Stored User Data.

The alternative would be to place the manually-entered information on worksheets which do not have any Jet functions.

Re: Allow standard user to create and manage scheduled reports when using UAC

Hi Eds -

In addition to *not* running the Scheduler as admin, your other option is to require that the user be logged in when running the task.

By doing so, elevated permissions are not required to create or run the task:

Re: Allow standard user to create and manage scheduled reports when using UAC

Hi Eds - In order to create tasks in the Windows Task Scheduler, the user must have sufficient permissions. Although I personally would not disable the UAC (I prefer having my separate local admin account, since I feel it this is the safer route), other users (and system admins) may feel differently.

Re: Allow standard user to create and manage scheduled reports when using UAC

Re: Filtering by a sum NL function

When dealing with nested replicating functions, it can be challenging to get cell references just right. The easiest way I know of is to ensure that your final cell references are always on the same row as your function. This can be accomplished by using a technique that is commonly referred to as a...

Re: Allow standard user to create and manage scheduled reports when using UAC

Hi Eds - Because of the increased security that was introduced in 2013 around the Windows Task Scheduler, I know of no way to schedule Windows tasks without elevated permissions. On my own machine, I maintain a non-admin user account (my "network account") and a local admin account. When I schedule ...
